Danny and Leo were subjects in a diabolical experiment that had gone wrong. They were the only two survivors. The game starts in a dingy asylum. You're Danny and your goal is to escape and let no one stand in your way - guards, inmates, nurses, doctors - are all enemies. Can you? Leo talk to Danny throughout the entire escape. There are questions about Danny's sanity but you don't have enough time to consider it as he rampages through the 'hospital' killing his way from one level to the next. He is, of course, relentlessly pursued by a group of viscous hunters who will also stop at nothing to finish Danny off. Actively pursued, the hunted Danny Lamb must tackle his way out of a nightmare where the stakes are as real as they are dangerous. While the core gameplay is still sneaking, shooting, and performing stealth attacks, there are a number of new options available for players in this exciting new version that's ripe and ready for the Wii. It's bound to be a major hit with Wii owners.
Like the original Manhunt, Manhunt 2 isn't for the faint-hearted ( ESRB rating is M for Mature). Death scenes are particularly gruesome, gory and bloody. Improved AI and advanced graphics make the game seem more realistic. Coupled with an eery soundtrack and sensational audio effects, Manhunt 2 is a sure-fire sequel for fans in search for frenzied action, explosive gameplay, and pulse-tingling adventure.

This game features some intense violence and gore, but does not focus entirely on that. It is a stealthy action game that involves hiding from a group of enemies and slowly trying to find your way around them (usually means killing them). The story and acting is the best Ive seen in a game, so if you really enjoy a good story, Manhunt 2 in definitely worth it.
But if you like the original Manhunt, you may be a little dissappointed in Manhunt 2 mainly because there is no bonus levels and no rankings on the levels, meaning when you beat a level, theres really no point in playing it again because you cant even try to beat your last time or anything. I did like the new weapons and new execution types, but since the game got filtered, there is no point in trying to do the most gruesome execution, which was another replay value for me in the first one.
Overall, a good game and story, but since theres no replay value, its really only worth renting.

Keeping Cool With The Wii

With Nintendo and its success of the Wii, many gamers have been playing longer, and keeping the system plugged in longer, because of the WiiConnect 24, and the News and Weather Channels. However, you might consider burning the system out due to overheating. Thankfully, you can cool it down with the Wii Radiator. This USB port fan, simply connects to the back of the Wii system through the 2 USB ports, and keeps the system from overexhaustion. It is inexpensive, and convient, but takes a little bit of time to securely plug it in to the back of the Wii system. It also is a bit noisy when you leave it plugged in, but it works very well. I really recommend this as a must if you're a Wii owner.

Ok yes they took out quite a bit of the special matches and other options, but it doesnt take away the overall fun of this game. I haven't really played the predecessors too much however (the last Smackdown I owned was Here Comes the Pain) but the overall game play seems very similar. I will admit that the instruction booklet is no help about how to execute the moves, the biggest thing that makes it hard to figure out is how you move the wiimote and nunchuk will effect what move your wrestler executes. I had a lot of fun with this game, even though you feel the moveset is somewhat limited, using different combinations and direction (holding A, B or moving the Direction Stick has you whip the controller around causes the differences between punches and grapples).

Part of the frustration of playing a game like this on the Wii is that you have to completely change the way you think about game controls, and there are many new controls to learn. Thus, this game is actually more enjoyable in Family Play mode. You can jump right in and get the basic moves down before attempting to use full control mode.

Some basic moves: rather than shoot the ball by pressing a button, you shoot by making a shooting motion with your hand. Rather than pressing the left or right arrows to steal, rebound, and block, you're flicking your wrists left or right. The B button is to pressure defense or to drive the ball down the lane. The A button or the arrow pad is used to pass.

The graphics are nowhere near NBA 2K8, but they aren't bad either. Players faces look like the players, and there's a nice variety of dunks and finger rolls to give the game some authenticity.

The most difficult thing to do is shoot free throws. You have to do the shooting motion at the right speed/power level to make the shot. The better the free throw shooter, the greater the area on the meter for a successful shot.

Overall, a decent game that's a part of my rotation during basketball season.

Dr. Derek Stiles is back, but he's not the only surgeon on call?a new player joins the team, bringing along everything the doctor ordered: difficulty modes, new surgical implements like the defibrillator, and an exciting never-before-seen conclusion. So what are you waiting for? If one dose of Trauma Center wasn't enough, it's time you got a Second Opinion!

As an educator I am routinely challenged to present the vocational world in a way that is accesible and interesting. Many if not most professionals do not do this particularly well. Getting kids TO college is a far cry from helping them decide what they should do once they get there. Games such as this could help.

I think Nintendo should develop an entire line of vocational samples and package them in one or a few games. I would especially like to see:

1) engineer, designer, architect, mechanic, computer technician, security professional, technical support rep, computer programmer, technical analyst
2) parent, manager, educator, coach, trainer, institional psychologist , social worker, HR manager, politician, organizational executive or leader
3) disaster relief worker, paramedic, fire fighter, police officer, explorer, soldier
4) financial professional, accountant, banker, investor, actuary, collection specialist
5) chef, waiter, fast food service worker
6) contractor, carpenter, electrician, plumber
7) driver, pilot, skipper, in-transit attendant, travel agent
8) inside sales, telemarketing, car sales, store clerk, cashier, insurance sales
9) research scientist, theoretician, politician, lawyer, legal and medical claims technician, insurance adjuster, detective, investigator, systems analyst
10) library tech , semi-skilled researcher , administrative assistant , secretarial work , filing , billing , telephonic customer support
11) (and of course health care) doctor , pathologist , nurse , OT , PT , psychotherapist , x-ray tech , lab technician , hospital administrator , health care insurance specialist

Any jobs that have a fairly high representation in the global job market or represent fields with especially high romanticization, disatisfaction or turnover seem like good choices.

I see MANY kids leave high school with the ambition and talent to go to med school, but without the correct disposition!. It's just PROFOUNDLY disturbing to see them again 4-6 years later as disillusioned college graduates in fast food, retail sales or office administration because they decided too late that medicine was not the career for them--and they either had no plan B, or placed no emphasis on a backup career. There are geniuses out there who could be making a substantial contribution to society, but who turned from medicine in their junior and senior years of college simply because they couldn't stand the sight of blood.

Programs like this one (when well designed and integrating substantial field expertise) have the potential to save parents, nations and most importantly young people so much heartache and money lost stalwartly pursuing fruitless and romantic ambitions instead of experiencing the satisfaction of realizing practical (and achievable) goals.

The new story line and new characters are refreshing, but the operating tools and the operations are basically the same as Second Opinion. There is a tutorial prior to the operations which is helpful that I wish was present in Second Opinion. The healing touch star has returned which is frustrating to me because I am just not good at drawing a star. I am still having fun with this game but just don't expect anything too much different than Second Opinion. I have only gone through level 1-6 so maybe there will be some nice surprises.

-Chess. It has 3 levels easy, medium and hard. Up to 4 players can play at the same time. I have not played it. So I don't know how sophisticated it is.

-Checkers. This game is only suitable for kids because the moves are very limited. You can move only to the adjacent unoccupied square. I don't even play it on the real board.

-Reversi. It's challenging but it's easy to play. It's a good party game. It's meant for 2 players only. But up to 4 players can play it by dividing into 2 teams.

-Back gammon. It requires good strategy and it's easy to play. It's a good party game. It's meant for 2 players only. But up to 4 players can play it by dividing into 2 teams.

-Quattro. This game is only suitable for kids because the moves are very limited. It's not worth it.

-Gomoku. It requires good strategy and it's easy to play. It's a good party game. It's meant for 2 players only. But up to 4 players can play it by dividing into 2 teams.

-Mahjong. This is not suitable for video game because the tiles are too small to see the patterns clearly. Even though my TV is 31 inches wide I still can hardly see the tiles from my couch. It's easier to play on the computer because you sit much closer to the monitor. It's also better to play with the real tiles.

-Sudoku. This game has both advantages and disadvantages. You won't lose any number tiles because they are software. It's easier to play with the video game because when you put a number in the wrong postion, the game won't let you! It's meant for 1 player only but more than one person can play it at the same time.

-Jigsaw. This game is best played with the real jigsaw pieces. In the video game, you can see only 6 pieces of the jigsaw at one time. The pieces move from the bottom right to the bottom left of the screen. So the same pieces will get out of view after some seconds. This makes it very hard to play.

-Chinese checker. It requires good strategy and it's easy to play. It's a good party game. Up to 5 people can play at the same time.

-Wordcube. This game is best played with the real pieces. It's because the video game has a time limit of 10 minutes. You can make it shorter but not longer. I wish there was the option to turn off the time.

-Naval battle. This game is only suitable for kids because it's too easy.

The first Winter Sports title on the Nintendo Wii is a very solid one, especially at the budget price.



The presentation is very solid. The game runs with a widescreen mode, has smooth graphics, and good sound. In addition to the in-game music, there are two witty European commentators that provide some interesting and funny banter. There is a very neat opening ceremony, and medal ceremonies complete with national anthems. Load times are minimal, and bugs are non present.



There are over fifteen events in nearly every Winter Olympic discipline. There are two varieties of Speed Skating, several varieties of Skiing, Skeleton, Luge, Bobsleigh, Figure Skating, and Curling. The majority of the events controls very well and provides intelligent and innovative uses of the Wii remote and Nunchuck. With the sliding sports, for example, while on the track you hold the remote in the Steering Wheel fashion. With Figure Skating, you use the remote and Nunchuck like in a rhythm game, very similar to the method used in the Wii version of "Dancing With the Stars." Sadly, the controls for Curling seem to be broken or, at the least, extremely difficult to use. But, all of the other events control very well.

The game has a skill-building career mode, 4-player multiplayer, single event play and traditional tournament modes. Overall, for the price, it's a very solid package that's enjoyable in both single and multiplayer modes.
